Michael Kennedy Receives Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture Scholarship
The sixth annual Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture Scholarship was presented recently by the Honourable Keith Hutchings, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, to Michael Kennedy of Spaniard’s Bay.
The $1,000 scholarship was created to promote awareness and appreciation of the province’s fishing and aquaculture industry, and the exciting careers that can be had within this industry.
“I am pleased to award this year’s $1,000 scholarship to Michael Kennedy,
an exceptional young man whose overall academic achievement and scholarship
essay about aquatic invasive species earned a scholarship that will support
what is sure to be a bright future.”

Michael Kennedy’s essay focused on the various aquatic invasive species and the harm they can cause to the environment, and industry.
