Premier Announces Senior Appointment

The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced the appointment of Leigh Puddester as Deputy Minister Responsible for Government Procurement Reform.

“It is vital that government’s procurement of goods and services be efficient, providing good value for every dollar spent,” said Premier Dunderdale. “I congratulate Mr. Puddester on his new appointment and look forward to his contributions in this important role.”

Mr. Puddester most recently served as Chair and Chief Executive Officer of the Multi-Materials Stewardship Board, a position he had held since September 2009. His new appointment is effective immediately.

BACKGROUNDER
Biographical Information

Leigh Puddester
Mr. Puddester most recently served as Chair and Chief Executive Officer of the Multi-Materials Stewardship Board, a position he had held since September 2009. Prior to this appointment, he was President of K&D Pratt and previous to that, Chief Marketing Officer for Stratos Global. His other previous positions include senior corporate and marketing positions with Aliant Inc., Newtel Communications, and The Bristol Group Inc.

Mr. Puddester holds the degrees of Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University in Kingston and Bachelor of Commerce (honours) from Memorial University.
