Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 - Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Butt’s Pond Gravel Quarry                                                                         (Reg. 1686)
Proponent: D & A Trucking Limited

D & A Trucking Limited proposes to establish a one-hectare quarry approximately eight kilometres west of Gambo in the Butt’s Pond area. Quarrying will be completed using a front end loader and gravel screen with no blasting or drilling to take place. The quarry will produce sand and gravel for use by cabin owners in the local area. The quarry will operate between April and November and will commence operation upon approval.

The undertaking was registered on January 10, 2013; the deadline for public comments is February 14, 2013; and the minister’s decision is due by February 24, 2013.
