High School Transcripts Released

High school students throughout Newfoundland and Labrador can soon expect to learn how they performed, as public exams have been graded, final marks calculated, and transcripts mailed to students.

“Marks in public exam courses are generally on par with previous years, with no major deviations in the scores,” said the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Education. “We were pleased to see the overall pass rate for public exam courses is once again over 90 per cent, and that the general trend towards a higher percentage of students graduating with an honours or academic diploma is continuing.”

Results for public exam courses can be viewed in the backgrounder below.

Minister Jackman noted the pass rates could increase, as student take advantage of supplemental exam opportunities to improve their scores.

Students who will be writing supplementary examinations in August can access exam schedules, registration forms, and learning resources designed to help them review course material at www.ed.gov.nl.ca/edu/k12/evaluation/exams.html. The deadline for registration is July 31, 2013.
