Media Advisory: Minister to Visit Gander
to View School Site, Announce Safe and Caring Awards

The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Education, will be in Gander tomorrow (Friday, May 31) to visit the proposed site of a new school for Grades 4-6, located on the corner of Raynham Avenue and Magee Road. The Minister will be accompanied by the Honourable Kevin O’Brien, Minister of Municipal Affairs and MHA for Gander. The visit will take place at 11:00 a.m.

At 1:00 p.m., Minister Jackman and Minister O’Brien will join members of the Beyond the Hurt Group at Gander Collegiate to announce the provincial winners of the Safe and Caring Graduating Student Awards. The awards were established in 2006, as part of the Provincial Government’s Safe and Caring Schools initiative, to recognize students for their leadership efforts in promoting safe learning environments.
