Public Advisory: Intermittent Traffic Delays on Outer Ring Road

Due to approved blasting activity, the Department of Transportation and Works advises there will be brief intermittent traffic delays on the Outer Ring Road for a period of 14 days beginning Thursday, August 16.

The Outer Ring Road between Topsail Road Interchange and Thorburn Road interchange will be closed to both eastbound and westbound traffic during blasts. Blasting will typically take place two to four times per day, with road closure lasting 10 to 15 minutes each time. City Sand & Gravel must carry out this blasting as part of operations at its quarry near the Outer Ring Road.

To help maintain traffic flow, blasts and road closures will not take place during the following peak traffic hours:

Blasting can occur at any time outside of these peak traffic hours.
