Public Advisory: Construction Blasting to Take Place Near Carbonear General Hospital

The Department of Transportation and Works advises that the construction of the new long-term care home in Carbonear will involve blasting. The blasting will take place up to four times per day at the construction site adjacent to the Carbonear General Hospital and will continue until the end of June.

Residents in the area have been notified by the contractor and communications are ongoing with officials at Carbonear General Hospital to ensure staff are always notified in advance of blasting activity. When complete, this project will result in a new long-term care facility, which will include space for recreation therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and spirituality.
