Public Advisory: MV Apollo to Resume Service

The Department of Transportation and Works wishes to advise the public that the MV Apollo has resumed service across the Strait of Belle Isle between St. Barbe and Blanc Sablon effective today.

The MV Sir Robert Bond made its scheduled trip from Corner Brook to Blanc Sablon this morning. On arrival at Blanc Sablon, the winter service between Blanc Sablon and Corner Brook will end.

The department reminds the public that there is ice in the Strait of Belle Isle, and this could affect the ferry service over the coming weeks. The department assesses ice conditions on an ongoing basis and works with Labrador Marine Inc., the contracted service provider, to make information about the service available to the public on an ongoing basis. Users of the service should visit www.labradormarine.com or call 1-866-535-2567 to determine the current status of the service.
