New World Theatre Receives Cultural Funding Grant
The New World Theatre Project in Cupids has received $30,000 through the Provincial Government’s Cultural Economic Development Program. The funding will be used to help with the costs of producing the 2012 season.
“Now into its third season, the New World Theatre Project has become a popular attraction for the residents and visitors of Cupids,” said the Honourable Derrick Dalley, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. “As a government, we are committed to our cultural community and pleased to support the tremendous theatrical talent in the province.”
The 2012 season opened on July 5 and runs until August 26.
“This event has encouraged tremendous visitation to the area,” said the Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Transportation and Works and MHA for Harbour Main. “I am very pleased that the Provincial Government has provided funding for another season of high calibre productions, and I wish the cast and crew all the best.”

Budget 2012: People and Prosperity provides $2.9 million through its Cultural Economic Development Program to support arts, cultural, and heritage initiatives throughout the province.
