The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Provincial Minor Hoop Championships

Thirty-one teams will participate at six various venues across the province in this year’s Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Associations Grade 10 “Universal Corporate Wear” Provincial championships this weekend, April 19 - 22. On the west coast Lewisporte Intermediate, Lewisporte will host the boys’ divisions while New World Island, Summerford will host the girls.

On the east coast St. Catherine’s, Mount Carmel will host the Boys A; St. Kevin’s, Goulds will host the B championship. On the girls side Booth Memorial, St. John’s will host the A; St. Lawrence Academy, St. Lawrence will host the B Championship.

The east coast Grade 9 C boys have been rescheduled for this weekend, April 20 - 22. The championship will take place at Leary’s Brook, St. John’s, with a total of seven teams participating.

Play gets underway on Thursday afternoon and will conclude with the championship games Sunday morning.
