The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Air Gun Provincial Championships Start March 24

The Newfoundland and Labrador Shooting Association (NLSA) will host the ISSF 10-metre Air Rifle and Air Pistol Provincial Championships on March 24 starting at 8:45 a.m., at the MacMorran Community Centre. Both ISSF events are divided into men’s 60 shot and women’s 40 shot, following the ISSF rules and regulations except where noted. ISSF events will be shot on target carriers. Equipment is available to borrow but competitors must supply their own or purchase NLSA .177 Cal pellets.

Junior athletes with birth dates between 1995 and 2003 inclusive attaining a minimum qualifying score, in an ISSF event, will be eligible for a partially-funded position on the Provincial Junior team 2012 - 2013. Details will be available for viewing at the venue, or in advance by request.

Shooters off the Avalon may elect to shoot at another site but must make arrangements with the match chair first.

Entry Fee: $15.00 for one event and $25.00 for both, plus NLSA membership (if not already a member).

Special Rules

  1. Rifle TY, MM and SS will shoot five shots per target, EX and MA shoot two shots per target.
  2. Pistol, five shots per target.
  3. Unclassified shooters will be classed based on the score they attain in this competition.
