The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Provincial Minor Hoop Championships

Forty teams will participate at six venues across the province in this year’s Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association’s Grade 6 Universal Corporate Wear Provincial Championships this weekend, February 24-26.

St. Gerard’s and CC Loughlin schools will play host to the boys and girls west coast events in Corner Brook. On the east coast St. John Bosco in St. John’s and Baltimore school in Ferryland will host the boys A and B events. St. Francis of Assisi and St. Bernard’s of Bay Bulls play hosts to the Girls A and B championships.

Play gets under way on Friday afternoon and will conclude with the championship games Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
