Media Advisory: Ministers to Launch Fish Harvesting Safety Association
The Honourable Paul Davis, Minister of Service NL, and the Honourable Darin King, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, will be joined by Leslie Galway, CEO of the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission, to formally launch the Newfoundland and Labrador Fish Harvesting Safety Association tomorrow (Wednesday, September 26), at 10:30 a.m. The event will take place in the second floor theatre of The Rooms.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Fish Harvesting Safety Association is a new organization created following consultation between the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission and the Professional Fish Harvesters’ Certification Board. It will focus on health and safety issues specific to the fishing industry.
