Occupational Health and Safety Charges Laid Against Company and Supervisor

Service NL announced today that a Birchy Bay company has been charged with six violations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations. A company supervisor has also been charged with a single violation as a result of the same inspection which took place in Gander on June 23, 2010.

D.E.T. Enterprises Ltd. is alleged to have violated Occupational Health and Safety legislation which requires fall protection equipment and a written fall protection plan, training for the health and safety representative, and a workplace free of trip hazards.

The company supervisor has been charged with allegedly providing inadequate supervision.

The first appearance for both the company, and the supervisor, is scheduled for March 27, 2012 at Provincial Court in Gander.
