Public Advisory: Open Fire Ban to Be Implemented in Labrador

The Department of Natural Resources is implementing an outdoor fire ban for forest land in Labrador effective immediately.

Recent dry weather and hot temperatures experienced in Labrador have heightened the forest fire threat throughout many areas. Accordingly, departmental officials have decided that unauthorized burning, such as campfires and brush burning, cannot take place in and around forested areas.

The outdoor fire ban will be lifted when weather and forest conditions warrant.

For more information, please contact the District Forest Office in your area. Contact numbers can be found at www.gov.nl.ca/nr/department/contact/forestry/forestry.html
