Media Advisory: Minister to Speak at Mitacs Reception

The Honourable Keith Hutchings, Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development, will speak at a reception celebrating excellence in research and innovation today (Wednesday, November 14) at 1:00 p.m. The reception, hosted by Mitacs, will take place at the Suncor Energy Fluvarium in St. John’s.

Mitacs is a national organization which coordinates a research internship program that enables graduate students and post-doctoral fellows to lead research and development projects, as well as connect with local businesses and apply their specialized skills and ideas to real world technical challenges. These four-month internships also assist graduate students and post-doctoral fellows acquire practical research and business skills, and businesses to access the research talent they need to drive innovation.
