Media Advisory: Minister to Speak at Opening of Archaeology Conference

The Honourable Keith Hutchings, Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development, will speak at the opening reception of the Council for Northeast Historical Archeology’s Annual General Meeting tonight (Friday, October 5). The event begins at 7:00 p.m. on the third floor of The Rooms in St. John’s.

The theme of this year’s conference, By Land or By Sea: Changing Worlds, explores European expansion into the northeast. The meetings began on Thursday, October 4, and will end on Sunday, October 7.

Founded in 1966, the Council for Northeast Historical Archeology is non-profit organization dedicated to archaeology scholarship. It includes people from Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia.
