Media Advisory: Minister to Launch Stakeholder Engagement Sessions

The Honourable Keith Hutchings, Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development, will be in St. Anthony tomorrow (Tuesday, September 18) to launch a series of stakeholder engagement sessions as part of the Provincial Government’s Arctic Opportunities Initiative.

The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 59-61 East Street, St. Anthony. Media representatives are invited to the session opening for the minister’s opening remarks and an overview on the Arctic Opportunities Initiative.

Through the Arctic Opportunities Initiative, the Provincial Government is working with businesses and organizations to identify opportunities in the Arctic, build knowledge and capacity, and create awareness of Newfoundland and Labrador’s expertise and capabilities related to the Arctic. It will also help the Provincial Government acquire a greater understanding of activities of Newfoundland and Labrador-based organizations in the Arctic and determine the most effective role in facilitating and advancing Arctic-related activities.
