Media Advisory: Minister Attending 36th Annual Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers

The Honourable Keith Hutchings, Minister of Innovation, Business, and Rural Development, on behalf of the Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, is today attending the 36th annual Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers (NEG-ECP) in Burlington, Vermont.

NEG/ECP represents 11 jurisdictions, comprising six New England states – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont – and five Canadian provinces – Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Quebec.

Established in 1973, the conference advances the interests of the region through cooperation and encourages collaboration with the private sector. The NEG/ECP conference has addressed a number of topics over the years including the environment, economic development, tourism, energy, fisheries, trade and agriculture.
