Media Advisory: Minister to Make Announcement at Holyrood Marine Base

The Honourable Keith Hutchings, Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development, will announce funding at the Holyrood Marine Base tomorrow (Tuesday, January 31) at 2:30 p.m.

The Honourable Joan Burke, Minister of Advanced Education and Skills; the Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Transportation and Works and MHA for Harbour Main; Dr. Gary Kachanoski, President, Vice-Chancellor, Memorial University; and Glenn Blackwood, Vice-President, Memorial University (Marine Institute), will also participate in the announcement. Businesses, students, and instructors who use the Holyrood Marine Base will provide demonstrations following the announcement.

Directions to the Holyrood Marine base are as follows. Take the Holyrood Access Road exit off the Trans Canada Highway. At the end of the road, turn left onto the Conception Bay South Highway, then right onto Northside Road. The Holyrood Marine Base is across from the Holyrood Marina.

Owned and operated by the Marine Institute of Memorial University, the Holyrood Marine Base is a marine training and research facility. It provides students, researchers and ocean technology companies with access to the tools and environment they need to develop their products.
