Media Advisory: Minister to Participate in Launch of Fishing Vessel Stability E-Simulator

The Honourable Derrick Dalley, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Steve Kent, Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Keith Hutchings, Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development and Minister Responsible for the Office of Public Engagement, will join the Canadian Council for Professional Fish Harvesters, the Fisheries and Marine Institute, and their project partners to officially launch a Fishing Vessel Stability Simulator.

The event will begin today (Friday, November 30) at 12:30 p.m. in the Alcock Room of the St. John’s Convention Centre. It coincides with the North Atlantic Fish and Workboat Show being held at Mile One Centre.

The Fishing Vessel Stability Simulator is a digital distance education tool. The event will provide an opportunity to demonstrate the product, highlight the benefits of the training software to fish harvesters and recognize funding partners.

Following this event, MHA Kent will bring greeting on behalf of the Provincial Government at the Atlantic Canadian Marine Industry Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Mile One Centre, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
