Premier Dunderdale Announces Senior Appointment

The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced the appointment of Tina Follett to the position of Assistant Deputy Minister, Compensation and Staffing, with the Human Resource Secretariat.

“Ms. Follett has proven herself as a tremendous asset within the provincial public service,” said Premier Dunderdale. “I look forward to her continued dedication as she takes on this new role in her career with the Provincial Government.”

Ms. Follett’s appointment is effective November 1, 2012.

BACKGROUNDER
Biographical Information

Tina Follett
For the past 20 years, Ms. Follett has held a number of progressively senior positions in the Human Resources field. From 1992 to 1997, she was a Labour Relations Officer with the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Boards Association. She then moved into the role of Project Co-coordinator, Human Resource Team, with the Integration Project for the Department of Health and Community Services and the former Department of Human Resources, Labour and Employment. Following this one-year secondment, Ms. Follett took on the position of Manager, Human Resource Management, with the Department of Health and Community Services. In January 2001, Ms. Follett became the Director of Human Resource Management with the department, a position she held until December 2005 when she moved into her most recent role of Director, Strategic Staffing, with the Public Service Commission. In 2003, Ms. Follett was recognized for her contributions with a Public Service Award of Excellence, the highest honour an employee can receive from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Ms. Follett holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Co-op) and a Masters Certification in Project Management from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
