Media Advisory: Minister to Unveil Monument in Nutak

The Honourable Nick McGrath, Minister for Intergovernmental and Aboriginal Affairs and Minister Responsible for Labrador Affairs, is travelling to Nutak today (Wednesday, August 15) to participate in the unveiling of a monument commemorating an apology made to residents who were relocated from the northern Labrador Inuit community in 1956. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 12:30 p.m.

Minister McGrath will join Nunatsiavut President, Sarah Leo, and former Nutak residents. Also taking part in the ceremony is the Honourable Peter Penashue, Regional Minister for Newfoundland and Labrador and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and President of the Queens Privy Council, and the Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board.
