The following is being distributed at the request of His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador:

Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador and Mrs. Crosbie
to host a Diamond Jubilee Garden Party in Corner Brook

On Wednesday, July 18, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., Their Honours the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie invite the general public to attend a Diamond Jubilee Garden Party at Corner Brook City Hall Square.

Featuring a performance by Sherman Downey, an appearance by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Mounted Unit, and Darren Hancock playing the Vice Regal Salute, the garden party is being held to honour the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. Light refreshments will be served by local Girl Guides.

During the day the public will be able to view four picture boards commemorating the four visits of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to Newfoundland and Labrador. The picture boards are part of an exhibit that has been on display at Government House during the Diamond Jubilee year and will be featured at the Corner Brook Museum.

Their Honours look forward to sharing Corner Brook Day with the residents of the entire region.
