Media Advisory: Budget 2012 Media Lock-In

A lock-in for Budget 2012 will be held for media representatives on Tuesday, April 24, in the Conference Centre, Ground Floor, West Block, Confederation Building.

During the lock-in, media representatives will be provided with advance copies of the budget documents. A news conference with the Honourable Tom Marshall, Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board, will also take place.

The agenda for the lock-in is as follows:

9:00 a.m. Lock-in area opens
9:30 a.m. Distribution of Budget 2012 documents
11:00 a.m. News conference with Minister Tom Marshall
12:30 p.m. Lunch
1:55 p.m. Media representatives move to the House of Assembly

Members of the media may enter the lock-in at any time after 9:00 a.m. Upon entering, however, a person must remain in the lock-in until 2:00 p.m. Media representatives are reminded that wireless communications devices, such as mobile phones and BlackBerrys, are not allowed in the lock-in area. Those in the lock-in will be required to disable built-in wireless communications on other portable devices.

Accreditation forms, available from the Communications Branch of Executive Council, must be completed and signed prior to entering the lock-in. Media representatives are requested to complete these forms and return them by Thursday, April 19. Further information can be obtained by contacting Doris Walsh at 729-3812.
