Media Advisory: Cabinet Ministers to Attend Combined Councils of Labrador
Annual General Meeting

The Honourable Nick McGrath, Minister for Intergovernmental and Aboriginal Affairs and Minister Responsible for Labrador Affairs; the Honourable Joan Burke, Minister of Advanced Education and Skills; the Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Transportation and Works, and the Honourable Kevin O’Brien, Minister of Municipal Affairs, will participate in the 40th Anniversary of the Combined Councils of Labrador (CCL) Annual General Meeting taking place in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, February 23-25.

“The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador recognizes the important role that Labrador plays in the overall success of our province,” said Minister McGrath. “I look forward to engaging in meaningful discussions, as we talk about priorities, plans and working together in order to strengthen the social and economic future for all Labradorians.”

Minister McGrath will be the keynote speaker during the luncheon on Saturday, February 25, at 12:00 p.m. at Hotel North 2.

The CCL represents communities throughout Labrador. The Labrador Affairs Office continues to support the CCL through an annual operating grant of $100,000 which enables Labrador’s isolated communities, through a unified voice, to address challenges in Labrador.
