Last Call to Nominate for URock Volunteer Awards

The Honourable Nick McGrath, Minister Responsible for the Volunteer and Non-Profit Sector, reminds the public that Monday, February 27, is the deadline to nominate a dedicated young volunteer in their community for a URock Volunteer Award.

“We are incredibly fortunate to benefit from the hard work of so many dedicated young volunteers in communities all over our province,” said Minister McGrath. “The URock Volunteer Awards provides an opportunity for us to recognize and celebrate deserving young Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. I encourage everyone to take the time to nominate a young person or youth-led organization who continues to make great things happen in their community.”

Nominations can be made in two categories: those for individuals and those for youth-led, non-profit or community-based organizations. Individual nominees must have made outstanding voluntary contributions, be 30 years of age or under and a current or past resident of Newfoundland and Labrador. Organizations nominated must be youth-led, non-profit and community-based undertakings which have made outstanding contributions, without reward or gain, to the benefit of others.

The nomination form can be obtained by visiting www.urockvolunteerawards.ca or by calling toll free 1-877-895-8891.
