Public Advisory: Ecological Reserves on East Coast Closed in Anticipation of Storm System

In anticipation of high winds associated with Tropical Storm Leslie, the Department of Environment and Conservation advises the public that it will be closing the two ecological reserves on the eastern portion of the island. Cape St. Mary’s and Mistaken Point ecological reserves will be closed to the public tomorrow (Tuesday, September 11).

The department also wishes to advise the public to avoid using the T’Railway Provincial Park except in emergency situations. Washouts and obstructions are likely during severe weather conditions.

An update will be provided when the storm has ended and public access to these areas is permitted.
