The Honourable Terry French, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

EIS FINAL GUIDELINES APPROVED:

Kami Iron Ore Project
Proponent: Alderon Resource Corp. (Reg. 1611)

The minister has approved the final guidelines for the preparation of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Kami Iron Ore Project. The EIS guidelines document identifies the information that the proponent, Alderon Resource Corp., will be required to address in order to prepare the EIS.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND ADAPTIVE MANAGEMENT RESEARCH PROJECT ACCEPTED:

Forest Management Districts 10, 11, 12 and 13: Five-Year Operating Plan (2011-2015)
Proponent: Department of Natural Resources (Reg. 1593)

Following government review, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Wildlife Division, Department of Environment and Conservation, and the Forestry Services Branch, Department of Natural Resources, submitted on November 29, 2011 and the associated Adaptive Management Research Project: Forest Management Districts 10, 11, 12 and 13 (Zone 5) plan submitted on June 11, 2012, have been accepted.
