Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Terry French, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Mint Brook Quarry                   (Reg. 1647)
Proponent: Davis Sand & Gravel Ltd.

The proponent has submitted a proposal for the development of a four hectare gravel pit/quarry extension at the site of an existing quarry between Mint Brook Access Road and Mint Brook, approximately two kilometres from the Trans Canada Highway-Gambo Junction. Operations will include clearing, grubbing, quarrying and transport of aggregate. The proposed quarry will provide aggregate for use in the local area and work is scheduled to begin in the 2012 construction season.

The undertaking was registered on May 9, 2012; the deadline for public comments is June 14, 2012; and the minister’s decision is due by June 23, 2012.
