High School Transcripts Released

The wait is over for anxious high school students throughout Newfoundland and Labrador this week, as public exams have been graded, final marks calculated, and transcripts mailed to students.

“Overall, student performance in public exam courses was on par or better than last year in the majority of cases,” said the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Education. “There was, for example, improvement in the marks for most math and science courses as well as social studies.”

Minister Jackman noted the overall pass rate for all high school courses is 93 per cent, while the pass rate for public exam courses is over 90 per cent, which is a slight improvement over last year’s results.

Results for all public exam courses can be viewed in the backgrounder below.

Meanwhile, for students who will be writing supplementary examinations in August, exam schedules, registration forms, and learning resources designed to help students review course material can be accessed via the web at www.ed.gov.nl.ca/edu/k12/evaluation/exams.html. The deadline for registration is July 31, 2012.
