Public Advisory: Seasonal Labrador Ferry Services to Conclude

The Department of Transportation and Works advises the public that seasonal ferry services for communities in Labrador are now concluding.

The MV Northern Ranger will travel to Cartwright, Rigolet and Black Tickle this week en route to Lewisporte to end the operating season for this year.

The MV Astron has been travelling to ports north to Nain this week and will return to Lewisporte via Postville and Cartwright, with an expected arrival at Lewisporte on Friday, December 9 or Saturday, December 10 to end the freight service for this year.

The MV Sir Robert Bond has completed providing support to freight delivery services in Labrador and is now en route to Lewisporte.

The MV Marine Eagle, which serves the communities of William's Harbour and Norman Bay, will continue to operate as long as weather and ice conditions are suitable, but no later than January 31, 2012. Members of the public should note that last year this service ended on December 15.

The deadline for guaranteed delivery to ports north to Nain was Friday, November 18, however that deadline was extended until December 2 at Lewisporte and Goose Bay. All of this freight will be delivered by the end of this week.
