Writers’ Alliance Benefits from $80,000 Grant

The Writers’ Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador has received $80,000 in operational support through the Provincial Government’s Cultural Economic Development Program.

“This funding is intended to assist and promote emerging and recognized literary talent in our province,” said the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. “The Cultural Economic Development Program continues to support Newfoundland and Labrador’s literary sector, including local publishers and individual writers, for specialized development and market access activities.”

Théa Morash, Executive Director of the Writers’ Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador is pleased with the funding support.

“The investment made in the writing and publishing sector by the Provincial Government will allow us to continue providing valuable programs and services to both our members and the public,” said Ms. Morash. “The Cultural Economic Development Program allows us to help writers develop and promote their work.”
