Provincial Basketball Teams to Compete at Nationals

The Provincial Midget (U15) and Juvenile (U17) Girls Programs travel to Manitoba this weekend to compete in the national championships while the Midget (U15) and Juvenile (U17) Boys Programs participate in their nationals in Toronto, Ontario. Games in both provinces will commence on Monday August 1, and will conclude on Saturday, August 6, with the championship games in each respective age category.

Members of the boy’s U-15 team include: Mark Conway, Lucas Downey, David Grainger, Christian Greenland, Andrew Murray, Brett Warren and Matthew White of St. John’s; Nicholas Frew, Stephen Ryan and Nicolas Wareham of Mount Pearl; Ryan Hanlon of O’Donnell’s; Mitchell Snow of Pasadena. Coaches for the program are Erica Kennedy (Head Coach), Ian Coultas (Assistant Coach), Devon O’Grady (Manager) of St. John’s. Members of the boy’s U-17 team include: Ben Collingwood, Rourke Dawson, Tyler Evans, Zachary Hurley, Jacob Hynes, Evan Smith and Eugene Walsh of St. John’s; Daniel Foo and Ryan Harnett of Corner Brook; Michael Scott of Marystown; Dylan Flemming of Admiral’s Beach; and Mitchell Hearn of St. Catherine’s. Coaches for this program are Frank Foo (Head Coach) and Jenifer Bursey-Foo (Manager) of Corner Brook, and Mark Rowsell (Assistant Coach) of St. John’s.

The roster for the girls U-15 team include: Maria Carroll, Julie Croucher, Kathleen Dyer, Geana George, Kelsey Moore, Tiffany Morgan, Rosie Stanoev and Kayla Thompson of St. John’s; Janet Lee of the Goulds; Kelsey McGrath of Torbay; Stacey Leeward and Brittany Rose of Mount Pearl. Coaches for the girls’ program include Douglas Partridge (Head Coach), Geoff Moores (Assistant Coach), Emily Jameson (Assistant Coach) of St. John’s, and Kimberlee Brophy (Assistant Coach) of the Goulds. The U-17 roster for the girls team include: Molly Dawson, Sydney Ezekiel, Allie Guerra, Hilary Strong, Sarah Hickman, Hannah Jardine of St. John’s; Monica Lee and Alanna Mahoney of the Goulds; Alycia Leonard of Portugal Cove-St. Phillips; Emily Nash of Freshwater; and Brittany O’Keefe of Jerseyside. Coaches for this program are Darrell Ezekiel (Head Coach), Judy Byrne (Assistant Coach) of St. John’s and Cassandra Colbert (Manager) of the Goulds.
