Artistic Fraud Benefits from Cultural Investment

Artistic Fraud of Newfoundland has received $16,500 through the Provincial Government’s Cultural Economic Development Program to assist with marketing and touring activities.

“Founded in 1995, Artistic Fraud is a not-for-profit theatre company that enhances Newfoundland and Labrador theatre through the development of new and innovative standards,” said the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. “The Provincial Government is committed to the cultural community and to supporting the wealth of talent that exists throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.”

Funding is being used to assist with the marketing and touring of Emile's Dream to the Supernova Festival in Halifax, as well as the development of marketing materials for 0il and Water, which will run at Toronto's Factory Theatre in 2012.

"Artistic Fraud is thrilled that we have a partnership with the Provincial Government for the promotion and touring of original pieces,” said Jillian Keiley, Artistic Director. “We are pleased to be able to offer performances which celebrate and educate national and international audiences about Newfoundland and Labrador’s history and culture.”
