The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Provincial Minor Basketball Championships

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association has over 500 participants in this year’s Grade 6 provincial championships. Forty-two teams will participate at six various venues across the province.

JJ Curling and CC Loughlin will play host to the boys and girls west coast events in Corner Brook. Here on the east coast Gould’s Elem and Mount Pearl will play host to the Girls A and B divisions while St. Francis of Assisi in Outer Cove will host the Boys A and Baltimore of Ferryland will hold the Boys B championship.

Play gets underway on Friday afternoon and will conclude with the championship games Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon.
