Media Advisory: Sport NL to Launch First Annual Sportfest

Members of the media are invited to attend the official announcement of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador’s first annual Sportfest. As the province’s first fully-interactive sport festival, Sportfest promises to be an exciting and innovative experience.

The announcement will be attended by the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation; Chris Schwartz, Sportfest co-chair; Troy Croft, Executive Director of Sport NL; and, students from St. Paul’s Jr. High. During the event Jamie Korab, gold-medal winning curler; Rod Snow, professional rugby player; and Michelle Healey, former MUN varsity basketball player will be presented as Sportfest official ambassadors and provide demonstrations to the students of their respective sport.

All media are encouraged to attend.

Sport Newfoundland and Labrador is a volunteer organization committed to the promotion and advancement of amateur sport throughout the province. Sport NL represents 45 provincial sport organizations and over 70,000 individual members, while promoting the health benefits associated with physical activity and sport to the youth of NL.
