Media Advisory: Minister to Announce
Investment in Future Generation of Student Researchers

The Honourable Keith Hutchings, Minister Responsible for the Research & Development Corporation (RDC), and Glenn Janes, Chief Executive Officer of the RDC, will participate in a reception tomorrow (Tuesday, November 22) at 4:00 p.m. honouring the 2011 recipients of the RDC’s Ocean Industries Student Research Awards. The event will take place in the Bruneau Theatre Lobby Atrium on Memorial University’s St. John’s campus.

The event will be hosted by Dr. Christopher Loomis, Vice-President (Research), of Memorial University.

The reception will include details of a significant investment in highly-qualified student researchers in ocean industries at Memorial University. The funding is allowing Newfoundland and Labrador to attract and retain top student researchers studying areas relevant to this province including offshore petroleum, ocean engineering, fisheries, aquaculture, and marine science.

Limited parking is available in Lot 17.
