Public Advisory: Update Provided on Distribution of Income Support Cheques

The Department of Human Resources, Labour and Employment (HRLE) wishes to advise income support clients that most cheques for June 16 have been delivered via Canada Post as of last Thursday, June 9. However, the department has been made aware that in some areas throughout the province, in particular Corner Brook and Pasadena, some clients have not yet received their cheques.

Income support clients in the western region who have not received their payment can visit a local HRLE office to pick up their cheque. This process will begin immediately.

Persons with disabilities, clients who live in remote or isolated communities or anyone with an inquiry about how to make arrangements to receive their payments should call 1-888-313-9356 or TTY 1-888-729-5440.

For more information regarding the Provincial Government’s contingency plan for cheque payment distribution during the Canada Post labour dispute, please visit www.gov.nl.ca/postalstrike.
