Provincial Government Receives Financial Assessment of
OCI’s Fish Plant Operations in Marystown

The Provincial Government has received the final report of the independent accounting and consulting firm, Deloitte Inc., regarding the financial status of the groundfish operations at Ocean Choice International’s (OCI) fish plant in Marystown. The report was commissioned in September of this year by the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture.

“This report was commissioned by the Provincial Government in response to concerns about the viability of Ocean Choice International’s processing facility, which is an issue of great importance to everyone connected with the Marystown plant,” said Minister King. “The primary goal was to ensure all parties had the best information possible related to the financial viability of the plant. It’s our hope now that the findings will better inform the dialogue between the employees and employer.”
