Media Advisory: Minister to Meet with Federal Counterpart
and Regional Minister

The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, will meet with his federal counterpart, the Honourable Keith Ashfield, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, and the Honourable Peter Penashue, federal Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs. The meeting will take place today (Thursday, June 9) at 4:00 p.m. EST, at the offices of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, in Ottawa.

The ministers will discuss proposed budget cuts to Fisheries and Oceans Canada; quotas for turbot, halibut and northern shrimp; and the federal Fisheries Act.
