December 29, 2011

The following is being distributed at the request of His Honour the Honourable John Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador:

Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador and Mrs. Crosbie to Host Annual New Year’s Levee

Their Honours the Honourable John Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Jane Furneaux Crosbie will host the traditional New Year’s Levee on January 1, 2012, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at Government House.

“We are extremely pleased to once again host this traditional event that opens up Government House to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador,” stated Mr. Crosbie. “It is particularly significant that we start 2012, the Diamond Jubilee year of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, by welcoming the public to Government House which she has visited on four separate occasions and which continues today to be the official residence of her representative in Newfoundland and Labrador.”

The New Year’s Levee will be one of many Diamond Jubilee events to take place throughout the Province in 2012.
