Premier to Welcome Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston

The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will officially greet Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston tomorrow (Thursday, June 23) at the Confederation Building. The Premier will be joined by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Honourable Roger Fitzgerald, and the Commanding Officer of the Canadian Forces Station St. John’s, Commander Larry Jones.

The media are invited to attend this event, which will take place in front of the Confederation Building, East Block, at 1:25 p.m.

At approximately 1:55 p.m., there will be a photo opportunity only, in the Premier’s boardroom, eighth floor of the Confederation Building, for media to photograph Their Excellencies signing the Distinguished Visitors Book.

Media are asked to indicate their intention of attending the signing of the Distinguished Visitors Book by contacting the Press Secretary for the Premier’s Office at the information given below by 11:00 a.m. June 23.
