Changes to Senior Appointments Announced

The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced the resignation of Ross Reid as Deputy Minister of the Voluntary and Non-Profit Secretariat, effective immediately.

Premier Dunderdale thanked Mr. Reid for his dedication to the Provincial Government.

“I would like to thank Mr. Reid for his contributions to the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador over the years,” said Premier Dunderdale. “On behalf of his colleagues and the people of this province, I commend him for his competent and committed service.”

Baxter Rose will assume the duties of this role in an acting capacity.

“Mr. Rose is a valued senior executive with the public service and I am confident he will continue to advance the good work of the Voluntary and Non-Profit Secretariat,” added Premier Dunderdale.

Biographical Information

Baxter Rose
Baxter Rose has served in a number of executive capacities with the Provincial Government, most recently as Deputy Minister with the Department of Human Resources, Labour and Employment and the Department of Municipal Affairs. Prior to his appointment as deputy minister, Mr. Rose provided executive support at the assistant deputy minister level for various branches and divisions within that department. Mr. Rose also has extensive experience with Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation, where he served in a variety of progressively responsible positions. Mr. Rose is a certified general accountant and holds a certificate of vocational education (honours).
