Senior Appointment Announced
The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced a senior appointment.
Lori Anne Companion has been appointed Assistant Deputy Minister (Policy and Programs) with the Department of Child, Youth and Family Services. She moves there from the Department of Municipal Affairs where she has been Assistant Deputy Minister (Municipal Support and Policy) since July 2007. Her appointment is effective today, March 16.
“I extend very best wishes to Ms. Companion as she takes on her challenging new role,” said Premier Dunderdale.

Biographical Information
Lori Anne Companion
Lori Anne Companion has been a member of the provincial public service since
1986. She has held several senior management and executive positions within
the public service. Most recently she was Assistant Deputy Minister
(Municipal Support and Policy), Department of Municipal Affairs, a position
she has held since July 2007. Prior to that she was Private Secretary to the
Lieutenant Governor for four years. Her earlier positions included Manager
of Pension Benefit Standards, Senior Social Policy Analyst and Director of
Economic and Resource Policy in the Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat,
the Executive Council; and Cabinet Officer, Director of Cabinet Operations
and Assistant Secretary to Cabinet (Economic Policy), Cabinet Secretariat,
the Executive Council.
Ms. Companion received a Bachelor of Science degree in statistics and mathematics from Memorial University, followed by the completion of MUN’s Executive Development Program.
