Senior Appointments Announced
The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced two senior appointments.
Wanda Lundrigan has been appointed Assistant Deputy Minister (Service Delivery and Regional Operations) with the Department of Child, Youth and Family Services.
David Liverman has been appointed Assistant Deputy Minister (Mineral Resource Management), in an acting capacity, with the Department of Natural Resources.
“I congratulate Ms. Lundrigan and Mr. Liverman on their appointments and wish them well,” said Premier Dunderdale. “The strong work experience they have had with the Provincial Government will serve them well in their new roles.”
The appointments will be effective January 31.

Biographical Information
Wanda Lundrigan
Wanda Lundrigan has had extensive experience in a variety of positions since
joining the Provincial Government in 1980 as a social worker. Most recently
she was Senior Director of Policy and Strategic Planning, Department of
Child, Youth and Family Services, where she worked with the department’s
executive team in the transition and transformation of the new department.
Her earlier positions included Director of Policy and Planning, Department
of Government Services; Director of Policy and Planning, Department of
Transportation and Works; social policy analyst, Cabinet Secretariat of the
Executive Council; chief probation officer, Department of Justice.
Ms. Lundrigan has a Bachelor of Social Work from Memorial University, and completed course work and practicum for Masters of Social Work.
David Liverman
David Liverman most recently was Director of Mineral Strategy, Department of
Natural Resources. He has also worked as Director, and earlier as Senior
Geologist, with the Geological Survey Division of the Mines Branch of the
department. He joined the Provincial Government in 1988 as project
geologist, Department of Mines. Mr. Liverman also worked as a petroleum
geologist with the British National Oil Corporation. He currently is adjunct
professor at Memorial’s Department of Geography.
Mr. Liverman has a Ph.D. in geology and a Master of Science in geology from the University of Alberta, and a Bachelor of Science from Edinburgh University in Scotland. In addition to the many scientific reports and papers he has published, he is also the author of a book Killer Snow: Avalanches in Newfoundland and Labrador.
