Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Terry French, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Terra Nova River Quarry (Reg. 1621)
Proponent: Crossroads Contracting Limited

The proposed project involves the extension of an existing quarry to a 5.6 hectare sand and gravel quarry located on Pissimere Pond Road, Traytown. The proposed quarry will provide gravel and stone for the local market and will operate year round in accordance with demand for the product. The project is scheduled to begin in April 2012.

The undertaking was registered on December 12, 2011; the deadline for public comments is January 17, 2012; and the minister’s decision is due by January 26, 2012.
