Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Ross Wiseman, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

COMPONENT STUDY RECEIVED:

Labrador – Island Transmission Link
Proponent: Nalcor Energy                                                (Reg. 1407)

The proponent has submitted the Socioeconomic Environment: Aboriginal Communities and Land Use Component Study as part of the ongoing environmental assessment for the project.

Public comments on the component study must be received no later than September 20, 2011. The minister’s decision is due October 4, 2011. The component study is available on the Department of Environment and Conservation website at:
www.gov.nl.ca/env/env_assessment/projects/Y2010/1407/index.html
