Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Ross Wiseman, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Black River ATV Trail (Reg. 1588)
Proponent: Baxter Rodway

The project involves the construction of a 2.5 kilometre ATV trail that will be used to access cabins located along the trail and at Fall Pond. The trail is proposed to be constructed along Old Mill Road near the intersection with Route 210 and near the community of Swift Current. Construction is to be completed by manual labour and use of an excavator. The trail will connect with an existing ATV trail and provide an alternate access point along Old Mill Road. The existing trail is currently accessed along Route 210. Construction of the trail is expected to begin in summer 2011.

The undertaking was registered on June 16, 2011; the deadline for public comments is July 25, 2011; and the minister’s decision is due by July 28, 2011.
