Cottage Lots Available for Sale on Gambo Pond in Central Newfoundland

Twelve Crown land cottage lots are being made available through an upcoming public draw along the shore of Gambo Pond in central Newfoundland. Prices of the lots, which will be sold as grants (outright ownership), range from $8,000 to $11,500 with the full price to be paid upon signature of the title document.

“We are pleased to offer these Crown land cottage lots through our public draw process,” said the Honourable Ross Wiseman, Minister of Environment and Conservation. “It is important that we manage our provincial Crown land wisely while at the same time meeting the needs of citizens fairly and responsibly. Crown land is a valuable resource and these public draws are a part of its effective management.”

Anyone interested in obtaining a lot must submit a public draw entry form to the Central Regional Lands Office located in Gander by no later than 4:30 p.m., Friday, June 17. Entry forms received after that deadline will not be eligible. Application forms are available online at www.gov.nl.ca/env/ or at the Lands office at the following address:

Central Regional Lands Office
Department of Environment and Conservation
230 Airport Boulevard, Fraser Mall
P.O. Box 2222
Gander, NL
A1V 2N9

A random draw will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, at the Central Regional Lands Office to determine applicant selection order for the lots. Applicants may attend this meeting but attendance is not necessary. Following the random draw, applicants will be contacted by registered mail advising them of their selection order ranking. The selection of lots will take place at a subsequent public meeting on a date to be announced. Attendance by applicants or their proxy will be required at this meeting. An application fee of $113 and a $200 document processing fee must be paid at the time a lot is selected. These fees will be charged towards the cost of processing the application and preparing title documents.

Applicants are advised to inspect lots and view on-site system evaluation reports prior to the selection meeting.

Information on individual lot location and prices can be obtained from the Central Regional Lands Office at 709-256-1400 or at the address and website listed above.
